Vérifiez que vous utilisez bien la carte Atheros AR2413 ou AR2414 :

$ lspci | grep Atheros
04:01.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR2413/AR2414 Wireless Network Adapter [AR5005G(S) 802.11bg] (rev 01) 

Si oui, cable réseau (RJ45) débranché, exécutez les commandes ci-dessous pour la faire fonctionner sans encombres sur Ubuntu 12.04 (Testé avec Kubuntu 12.04.) :

echo "options ath5k nohwcrypt=1" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/ath5k.conf
sudo modprobe -rfv ath5k
sudo modprobe -v ath5k

Vous devriez maintenant pouvoir vous connecter.
