Installer une imprimante Samsung
Utilisation du dépôt dédié
Il existe un dépôt particulier pour les imprimantes Samsung, qui reprend le pilote unifié (voir plus bas), et l'optimise pour Debian. Les entrées dans les menus sont plus cohérentes si on installe les pilotes via le dépôt et l'installation est bien plus facile parce qu'elle gère les dépendances. Ouvrez votre fichier sources.list :
gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
Ajoutez cette ligne au fichier :
deb http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/ debian extra
Ajoutez la clé d'authentification :
sudo wget -O - http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/suldr.gpg | sudo apt-key add -
Mettez à jour :
sudo apt-get update
Installation du pilote pour les imprimantes
Avant toute chose assurez-vous que votre imprimante est débranchée. Ne la connectez à votre ordiateur qu'une fois les pilotes correctement installés. Si vous souhaitez accéder à vos imprimantes Samsung avec une interface graphique dédiée, installez le paquet : suld-configurator-2-qt4 Si vous souhaitez uniquement l'installation des pilotes sans interface dédiée choisissez le paquet : suld-driver-4.01.17
Installation du scanner des multifonctions
Scanner usb
Disposer des droits d'administration.
Disposer d'une connexion à Internet configurée et activée.
Avoir installé le paquet sane-utils.
sudo apt-get install sane-utils
Assurez-vous en premier lieu que suld-driver-4.01.17 est bien installé. Si vous avez un scanner connecté sur le réseau il est recommandé d'avoir également installé suld-configurator-2-qt4 et samsungmfp-scanner.
Ajoutez, si ce n'est déjà fait, votre utilisateur au groupe "lp" et "saned" :
sudo adduser $USERNAME lp saned
Il se peut également que vous deviez modifier deux fichiers pou y ajouter les références de votre scanner. Commencez par récupérer les références de votre scanner en saisissant dans un terminal :
sane-find-scanner
Le terminal doit vous renvoyer quelquechose comme ça (exemple pour une Samsung SCX-3400) :
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04e8 [Samsung], product=0x344f [SCX-3400]) at libusb:001:006
Modifier ce fichier :
gksudo gedit /etc/sane.d/xerox_mfp.conf
En y ajoutant ceci à la fin (À adapter selon votre modèle) :
# Samsung SCX-3400 usb 0x04e8 0x344f
Faites la même chose pour ce fichier :
gksudo gedit /lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules
En ajoutant ceci :
# Samsung SCX-3400
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04e8", ATTRS{idProduct}=="344f", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
Relancer udev en saisissant dans un terminal
sudo service udev restart
Votre scanner devrait maintenant fonctionner.
Scanner réseau
Dans certains cas les scanners connectés sur un réseau utilisent le backend Xerox_mfp. S'il n'est pas détecté, modifiez ce fichier pour y ajouter l'adresse IP du scanner :
gksudo gedit /etc/sane.d/xerox_mfp.conf
Si votre scanner ne fonctionne toujours pas suivez les instructions plus bas.

Modèles Multifonction CJX
Au printemps 2012 Samsung a introduit une nouvelle gamme de multifonctions, qui reprend en fait une série d'imprimantes Kodak. Le Pilote Samsung unifié ne fonctionne pas avec cette série. Pour faire fonctionner ce genre d'imprimantes installez le paquet printer-driver-c2esp, ce paquet fonctionne au moins pour CJX-1000, CJX-1050W, and CJX-2000FW.
Pilote Samsung unifié (méthode déconseillée)
Bien que plus difficile et ne présentant aucun avantage voire des désavantages, on peut utiliser aussi le Pilotes unifié Samsung.
- Télécharger et extraire le pilote
- Ouvrir un terminal et aller sur le répertoire
cdroot - Lancer la commande
sudo ./autorun - Après l'installation, le PPD est installé. Faire la commande :
$sudo ln -s /usr/share/cups/model/samsung /usr/share/ppd/custom/samsung
Sur Precise peut-être est-il utile d'installer une dépendance manquante si l'installation échoue : libstdc++-5.
Il est aussi possible d'ouvrir un terminal : sudo puis de glisser-déposer le fichier "install.sh" qui se trouve dans "cdroot". Sous xubuntu et Lubuntu il faudra copier coller le fichier dans le terminal, le glisser-déposer ne fonctionne pas.

Difficultés d'impression des pdf
Si vous avez des difficultés à imprimer des pdf installez le paquet : suld-printer-pdf-fix
Difficultés dans la détection du scanner usb
Si votre scanner ne fonctionne pas essayez l'installation du paquet : suld-scanner-usblp-fix
